The department offers undergraduate academic program which, upon successful completion, leads to award of BSc/BSc (Hons.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. The duration of this program is 4 years, and is divided into 8 semesters.
The main focus of the program is to train students in the areas of Thermo-Fluid Dynamics and Engineering Mechanics (Machine Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Machine Design). The understanding of the theoretical knowledge of these fields is enhanced with the help of experiments in laboratories. The department owns a large number of adequately established laboratories with modern equipment for this purpose.
Undergraduate Curriculum
The undergraduate curriculum consists of a blend of courses starting from the theory of thermo-fluid dynamics, mechanics, material science and mathematics, the orientation of courses gradually changes from basic theory towards application of the theory and advanced theory.
